Jodi Cohan, principal interior designer of JAC Design Studio, brings her background in the fine arts, the decorative arts, furniture and interior design to every project. She draws inspiration from her life experiences of extensive traveling throughout Europe, India and Hawaii, living abroad in Barcelona and studying design and architecture in New York City. She credits her deep appreciation of nature and the concept of home with creating thoughtful, dynamic and livable spaces. Her style infuses modernism with old world sensibilities.
Since founding JAC Design Studio in 2009, Jodi Cohan, ASID member, has designed projects in New York City, The Hamptons, Westport – CT, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Paris. Adept at all aspects of a project from original concept to final installation, full services include determining the scope of work, selecting contractors, project managing, specifying architectural materials, designing custom millwork and sourcing and purchasing all decoratives and artwork. The needs of her clients are her deepest consideration in regards to functionality, comfort and budget for any space.
Upon arriving in NYC in 2003, she embarked on earning her post graduate degree from the New York School of Interior Design. She gathered invaluable experience working for Thom Filicia, Inc., then Alan Tanksley, Inc. and years later Studio Sofield. Jodi worked on a range of projects including high-end residential, upscale retail, restaurant and hospitality. Prior to this, Jodi's years as a decorative artist, specializing in authentic Italian/French limestone plaster among various finishes,married her skills obtained with a BFA in painting and printmaking while a brewing passion and innate sensibility for design and architecture propelled her to the next chapter.
