ABOUT

Jodi Cohan is not confined to a single era or style. Her keen eye for detail and her distinctive sophisticated yet comfortable taste are evident in all of her endeavors.

Central to Jodi's identity is her strong work ethic, creativity and the personal connections she fosters with clients and industry professionals. Her love of architecture, materials and travel are all the backdrop of her inspiration.

Holding a BFA in Painting + Printmaking from SFSU, complemented by in-depth studies in the Decorative Arts, Jodi initially embarked on a career as an artist, specializing in unique finishes for interiors and furniture. This hands-on profession + knowledge enriches her designs, where every surface is thoughtfully considered and executed.

Jodi's adventurous spirit and bold personality led her to NYC, where she spent two decades honing her craft. She earned her Interior Design Degree from NYSID, benefiting from classical training. Her experience was further enriched by working with industry giants like Thom Filicia and Studio Sofield, focusing on private residences, hospitality and commercial projects, before launching her own studio. She is a proud member of ASID.

An opportunity to lead RH’s Interior Design business at their flagship Meatpacking District Gallery in NYC sharpened her business acumen. There she designed the company's largest residential projects worldwide while mentoring her team.  During her tenure at RH their design business flourished.  She developed new initiatives and collaborated with the executive team on new product collections and contributed to global expansion strategies.

Relocation to Newport Beach, CA, following her husband's career, marked a new chapter for Jodi. JAC Studio now works on projects across the country, encompassing new-builds, renovations, and meticulously curated furnishings.

Jodi's extensive travels have refined her perspective, continuing her education in history, architecture, design, languages, and lifestyles. Her favorite destinations include Japan, Paris, Bologna, Ibiza, Kauai, and India. Regular visits to trade shows in NYC, Milan, and Paris further influence her global aesthetic, always rich in unique materials and textiles.
